Paihia Coastal 2 Bedroom Cottages

We rented 2 cottages - a great place for a 3 night stay for a young family and grandparents Positive: Perfect place for a 3 night stay to visit the historic landmarks in the area eg Waitangi Treaty grounds, Kerikeri and Russell. Kitchen well-equipped for meal making and the beds were comfortable. Negative: There was no vacuum cleaner, broom or even a broom and dustpan which we needed for a 3 night stay with small children, despite being a very well-equipped cottage otherwise with a very good use of space and storage. The turn in and out of the driveway was a bit tight and on a hill!

A great little cottage for a small family. Positive: Very clean and comfortable. Well stocked with supplies, including some treats. Negative: We arrived on a hot day and the cottage was extremely hot inside. We had to put the air con on and go out again for an hour or so until it cooled down. It would have been helpful if the air con was put on a couple of hours before our scheduled arrival time. The second bedroom was very small for two kids and all their stuff but we managed.

Quiet location with a beautiful view. Cottages are a short drive to Paihia & Haruru falls. Positive: Very cosy, bright & clean place to stay. The cottage had everything we needed and more (thanks for the chocolates and milk etc in the fridge as well as all the tea and coffee). The beds were so comfortable. It's only a few mins drive to Paihia & Woolworths, it's next door to a craft brewery and about 2km from the Haruru falls. The host communicated very well with us and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area. The cottage had a magnificent view and the area was lovely and quiet at night. Negative: There is a very long narrow driveway to the cottage and i did find it a bit tricky backing out of the carpark into the narrow driveway due to the tight angle. The bathroom was a little dated but everything worked fine and it was lovely & clean.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The cottage was very clean, bright and comfortable. Positive: Everything!
